This is a biased look at Rugby (from a Gamma point of view...hence the fuschia) and I make no apologies for that. Go The Wallabies! Go The Brumbies!...and ouch...Stephen Larkham...

George Gregan. LeGGend.

...scrumhalf cup = espresso...

GG as World's Fastest Barista!...outside one of his Espresso Bars. When he's not working Rugby, he's working coffee machines and registers.

No one can deny the worth of this Man.
Even those who have denied it.

GG just keps proving his naysayers wrong time and time again...and for those of us, whose faith and loyalty never wavers...well, by George...he's a player par excellence....

George Musarurwa Gregan (born 19 April 1973 in Lusaka, Zambia) is an Australian rugby union scrum-half who has made more appearances for his national team than any other player in the sport's history.

He has captained the team to many victories and he is respected throughout the rugby world for his tenacity, tactical skill, leadership ability, and sportsmanship, but is also known for his 'talk-back' to referees.

Gregan has played Super 14 for the ACT Brumbies since the inception of that competition in 1996, helping to lead them to overall victories in 2001 and 2004.

He is a foundation Brumbies player and one of the few players whose careers span over both the amateur and professional eras.

George Gregan Interview - Career Reflection

The George Gregan Foundation, established in August 2005, is a long term vision of George Gregan and his wife Erica.
The idea for this Foundation was born in 2004 when their son Max was diagnosed with epilepsy. They spent time in hospital with Max and experienced first hand the needs of many sick children and their families.
The Foundation aims to raise funds for specific projects targeting children

If you order a strong short black at GG Espresso does George come to your table, or do you get a coffee?

Your secondary theme song should be 'Espresso Love' by Dire Straits.

It has some very interesting lines, including the opening two:

She gets the sun in the daytime
Perfume in the dusk

but the line I love most:

And she can raise one eyebrow

Would you really trust some footballer, regardless of how pleasant his smile is, with your morning espresso? I sure wouldn't.

Hiya my Cara...

GG is rock solid. No kidding.
He may be 'short' (but most scrumhalves are) but by George, he's strong.
And he has a lovely smile.

And aren't you proud of me?...not a single mention of Stephen Larkham anywhere...

much love my Cara

Alice...

I take it you have no idea of who George Gregan is?

Let me put it this way.

George Gregan is the Balenciaga of Rugby.

The Master.

...and as for trusting a Rugby player with holding on to something...

Have you ever tried to hold on to a ovoid smooth ball that is being contested for in the rain?

Didn't think so.

Thanks for coming by Alice.

My small claim to fame is that some Aussie builders mistook me for George Greegan.... probably because I was wearing a fleece jacket and because I wasn't running...

Still laughing over Fashionista's comment.

Footballers (or ex-footballers) [of the real kind] are the most graceful males on the planet, and perfectly suited to being Baristas.

I wouldn't trust a metrosexual or a gay with my morning coffee. I'd order a strong, short black and end up with a skinny, decaf latte with no head [creme de la creme], sugarine, and a jam donut on the side, get a sleazy, mascara-rich wink, my arse pinched, and wonder why it had a straw in it, Sweetie!

And I wouldn't trust a girl into fashion to make my morning coffee. She'd be too concerned about getting a bit of froth on her latest designer outfit, or her hands dirty [one of her nail extensions might break?], rather than concentrating on the bloody job she's being paid to do.

David,

Do you get George or a coffee.....hahahaha, that's a brilliant comment!!!

Dusk,

I love George. He is SO hot!

Seeing this post just reminded me that when I was in Sydney once for work, as I walking into the Commonwealth Bank head office, I walked past George. I was with our MD and one of our managers at the time, and they both said the same thing as I tried to say "oh my god there's George Gregan", though it came out more as "oh, uh, G..oh, god, it's....do you know who....uh....Geo....oh my god, I love him!!!"

"who's he?"

philistines!!!

My nephew has epilespy and it is very taxing on the families. Very noble...

Hope that you are having a great week!

You sure as heaven would make a good Barista yourself.

a) you're an ex footballer
b) you know how to brew something hot
c) you have the biggest spoon...

I was a good Barista. My methods at anything of a practical nature are uncoventional, intuitive and experimental. (I approach writing in the same fasnionista fashion). Sorry, the whole Italian bit got to me there.

The coffee takes care of itself on a cappuccino machine.

It's all about the milk and cream and froth. Whether to combine the milk, creme and froth or whether to separate the three ingredients. How you use the spout to do this, mainly. A lot of bosses didn't like my method, but they were all impressed with the finished product.

It's not about the size of the spout, it's about how you use it?

It's enough to make a man froth at the mouth.

Hiya KW...

Oh I know you love GG!!....and that is a totally fitting response to him.

Sort of like my response everytime I hear a certain Rugby players name....

Yes I go off my tree if anyone so much as mentions Jonny Wilkinson.

Bloomin' naff ponce.

...and we won't talk about what I go off or what goes off when anyone elses name is mentioned...

Oh my God.

This is supposed to be a PG blog.

Anyway.

Aha!...HR for CB...

Well I know you love purple and Ribena is purple...!

How are you gorgeous woman?

I was just talking about you yesterday with a friend (I read your comment yesterday)...about how you just seem to have it so together for someone so young (hey...21 is young to those in my...demographic)...

PLUS I was trying to find that photo of you that you had posted on Sisi's blog ages ago in response to a question she had asked...the one showing the purple streak in your hair?...the one that shows how absolutely divinely gorgeous you are???

(...and now fashion.org.au will crash in response to the mad searches...!)

Thanks for coming by hon...yes George is very very nice...and he's a good man too.

Hi Mis!

(sorry for the out of context reply...I got excited to hear from Trina!...no David...not in that way...)

Yes I can only imagine how difficult it is...not just for the one who has to suffer but also for the ones who have to see and exprience the suffering.

George started this foundation because of his son. Up til his son's first attack he and his wife had no idea nor clue that their son was epileptic.

There was a big media brouhaha bullshit circus about this...because as soon as Gregan heard that his son was not well...he flew back home.

The Wallabies were in the middle of a tour then. No one knew why George decided to up and go. He kept it very quiet and private (as it should be, no one elses business) but...my God...didn't they malign him?

Bet they all felt pretty bad when they found out why he rushed home.

I'm having a great as can be week Mis. I hope you're well and good.

much warmth

I certainly wouldn't order a skinny white.
You never know who you might get.

I have a lot of admiration for the short black.
But where is my spoon?

Well I would.

....but I do prefer a more robust taste.
Something fullbodied and swarthy...

Both want to know if that 'cheek' you're kissing is still on the scene. One also wants to know where you DJ.

...and I cannot believe Cibby was the only Orble guy to comment....I know the others have looked and fainted.

...maybe because Cibby has seen you Trina!...and Cibby, I haven't seen the rest of her but I'm pretty sure I know that Trina is as drop dead gorgeous as she is lovely.

Seriously Trina...you have got it goin' on woman. Way wayyyy on.
