In Rugby...He Makes It Happen....
May 28th 2007 07:23
Okay...I'm starting my Post Binge (and that's Post Binge not binge aftermath...you with me?) and to start it off...I'm sharing one of Australian Rugby's...nay....RUGBY's most treasured moments.
AND a reminder, for all ye of no faith and leth muthle (aka unpatriotic naff ponces)....in Rugby....anything can happen.
(This is Rugby World Cup Year. Hence the trip down Rugby Lane)
Rugby World Cup 1999....hosted by Wales, with matches played in England, Scotland, Ireland andPonce France.
(20 countries particpated, 41 matches played)
This was the semi-final match between Australia and South Africa, played in Twickenham, London on October 30, 1999.
This video features many of Rugby's greatest names;
John Eales aka Nobody (...because Nobody's perfect), Tim Horan, Matthew Burke, Phil Kearns and the greatest coach of all, Rod Macqueen.
.....and this was what....and WHO....sealed the eventual victory.
Stephen Larkham. Legend. Demi God.
...we won this match 27-21.
The Wallabies went on to defeatPonce France in the Final 35 - 12, crowning us World Champions.
Again.
...remember, this was 8 years ago...he has grown...and how.
Ouch.

Loved the vid ... (not just to get to see the 'incident' itself ... but it was cleverly and creatively constructed ... and I love those types of sporting videos ... Toyota have a series of AFL ads on atm fearuring famous moments ... [they're similar, yet not identical ... (So I enjoyed it on two levels ...
Looking forward to seeing Larkham playing this Saturday night ...
And, yep. I stayed up Saturday night and watched the entire match ... (You know what will happen don't you? Larkham will play this Saturday night, and I'll fall asleep ...

Glad you enjoyed the clip...I did think about you when I posted this...I know what a sports freak you are...
It's okay. I won't tell anyone.
I know you have a poetic rep to protect.
David.
Don't you dare fall asleep.

pigvoracious eater! The tight hat thing is headgear and he only wears it because his brain might overflow...Larkham's IQ is acknowledged at being at genius level...a bit below mine.
Joke!!!!!!!
I am just writing a post about that...the Wallabies beat the Welsh...barely...on Saturday night.
And no Stephen wasn't playing.
He will be this weekend though.
Match is free to air on Channel 7 on Saturday night... just in case you're home and channel surfing...
...later...

Doesnt stop me enjoying the pic!
Kman got a shock years ago when we were staying at his parents house. He woke me up in the middle of the night because the international dressage was on. I pulled my chair up about 2 inches from the screen and proceeded to leap up and down screaming and gesturing wildly....
His comment?
"You look like your watching rugby....But the horse appears to be doing nothing"
Ah, to the uninitiated my love.....
He gets payback during the ball games.

You should have chosen soccer.
Larkham, Beckham, ham and cheese sandwiches... I had a nice friand yesterday. If only you were there.
Unpatriotic ponces? Is that a compliment in rugby world?
If not, I have a comeback:
Patriotic putty for a patmedown at St Patty's pub...
Till next time,

Yeah...that's me..too.
Especially when I'm watching the Brumbies.
The Brumbies being the Canberra based provincial team that Stephen plays...played...for. (he retired)
One human's sport is another human's pleasure...by that I mean....to me horse-riding is a lot of hard work (yes I have ridden and yes my ass and thighs can still feel the pain and why does all this sound so suggestive???)...but to you...it's pure pleasure.
Like Rugby is to me.
Be well Kleo.

Wash your mouth out!!!
beckham is to Larkham as rhinestone is to Diamond.
I like men to be Men...not bent.
Unpatriotic ponce is not a compliment nor is it an insult.
It's just fact and friction.
Be well Opto...a tout a l'heure...

I don't do rugby, we know this, and yeah, I was more interested in the stains in Larkham's Jersey than in his helmeted head in the last posts (oh, god, did that ever come out wrong!), but this Nov '03 pic you've posted? Well, I can only echo your sentiments.
Ouch.
*smirks*
I think I'm beginning to see why my cards have been encouraging silence! *LMAO*
