September 29th 2007 00:00
Just a quick look at the match-ups today.
These are the last Pool matches before the Quarter Finals.

RWC Commemorative Coin

....time to put our money where England's mouth is. We want Bill back. And we'll make them eat their '03 words....

***************************

All times are AEST.

All matches will be broadcast on Channel 10 and Fox Sports.
(please check your local TV Guide for confirmation)

29-09-07 5:00 AM
England v Tonga Paris, France

(will do my best to post the result sometime before next year...kidding! Will do it today. A note...I am Ol' Blighty bred but really want Tonga to win...)

29-09-07 9:00 PM
New Zealand v Romania Toulouse, France

(might provide a brief match preview before sunset. For now...know this...Dan Carter (#10) is out with an injury but this match-up is a bit of a joke. If Romania even manages to get on the scoreboard...a public holiday should be declared)

...the only one that really matters...

29-09-07 11:00 PM
Australia v Canada Bordeaux, France

Telecast Times
Live on Channel 10 in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from 10:15pm,
9:45pm in Adelaide and 8:15pm in Perth.
Replay on Sunday 30th September at 12:00pm in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

My reason for Rugby-ing is out for the count (that would be Stephen Larkham) and Captain Mortlock is also out injured.

Berrick Barnes, who suffered a corked thigh in the second half against Fiji, will be rested for the quarter-finals, and Giteau and Gregan are on the Reserves bench to give them a bit of a rest as well, while still getting game time.

Mainly because our Backs are dropping like flies.

George Smith is Captain, robbing our beloved Gregan of the title of most capped Captain. The selectors are such pricks.

Wallabies coach John Connolly was far from satisfied following his side's 55-12 victory over Fiji in Montpellier. But the win - Australia's third consecutive bonus point triumph of the tournament - was still enough to seal top spot in Pool B and book a quarter-final showdown with either England or Tonga on October 6.

The Canadians have made a contest out of all three of their Pool B matches to date but remain winless heading into Saturday's clash with the two-time world champions. A heart breaking 12-12 draw with Japan in their last start saw the Cherry Blossoms cross in injury time to deny the Canucks their first victory of the tournament.

Australia's 'Mr Fix-It', Julian Huxley, becomes the third flyhalf used in four matches. With Larkham's recovery from a knee injury suffering a setback and Barnes rested for the quarters, the versatile 'Hux' will make his first run-on appearance of the World Cup.

The Wallabies:

Forwards:
1. Greg Holmes, 2. Adam Freier, 3. Al Baxter, 4. Nathan Sharpe (vc), 5. Mark Chisholm, 6. Hugh McMeniman, 7. George Smith (c), 8. David Lyons,

Backs:
9. Sam Cordingley, 10. Julian Huxley, 11. Drew Mitchell, 12. Adam Ashley-Cooper, 13. Lote Tuqiri (vc), 14. Cameron Shepherd, 15. Chris Latham

Reserves:
16. Sean Hardman, 17. Guy Shepherdson, 18. Rocky Elsom, 19. Phil Waugh, 20. Stephen Hoiles, 21. George Gregan, 22. Matt Giteau
