Matt Giteau Collapses!
July 5th 2007 23:31
....no...not the scrum...maybe the rum?
I don't really know what to make of this.

Hmmm...this is so ripe for Forward / Back differential analogy but what kind of hard hearted person would make fun of this, like that?
Not me. Not much.
Hmmm...as Alice in Funderland would say; "what the f**K is going on?"
Please see this post for the Tuqiri Trials and Tribulations.
The little Git annoys me...but that's only because he left the Brumbies (traitor!)...He's just a kid really...hope it's just a case of a Back not being able to hold his shot glass (to keeler!)...and nothing else.

The Wallabies' highest-paid player, Matt Giteau, has reportedly undergone medical tests after mysteriously collapsing outside a Sydney nightclub.
Channel 9 news reported on Thursday night that Giteau has to be carried out of the Sapphire Room in Kings Cross on Sunday night after passing out.
The Australian Rugby Union say the utility back was not drinking heavily.

The ARU medical team has taken blood and urine samples in a bid to find the reasons behind Giteau's collapse.
According to the television report, the tests did not find any trace of illegal substances.
Giteau collapsed on the same night team-mate Lote Tuqiri was out drinking to the early hours and later failed to front for a recovery session.
Tuqiri was subsequently fined $20,000 and banned for two Tests.

Giteaut of here!
Discrimination between the way backs and forwards are treated in Rugby?
(At least it never happens in journalism or in home-barracking circles).
Maybe he has the liver of a forward?

maybe the ref gave him a drink card.
Except...
He was not drinking heavily?
Sounds like an accurate statement.
I'm convinced.
He was doing the haka and suddenly it went all black?

...I don't know but a lot of people are hopping mad....
He's on some obscene amount that was negotiated when he was named the IRB's Rugby Player of the Year back in 2004 (I think).
I know that he is certainly the Super 14s' highest paid player.
Have a great weekend Kylie...hope you get to watch a bit of the match...besides you've got to
beerwear that new scarf in!Dusk

Sorry for replying so late.
Well...not usually and certainly not usually in Rugby. I know that league has had a few issues with their highest paid players falling hard and fast but not Rugby.
...unless it's a Rugby player who's switched codes from league...2 of the most high profile 'switchers' fell hard; Wendell Sailor and Mat Rogers...and Lote Tuqiri is definitely heading that way.
The 2 codes have a very different mentality and outlook towards the 'priveleges' their profession grants them.
Rugby players are taught (and it's usually innate) that humility is the key to success. Off field. On field it's all arrogance is the go!
Funnily enough...Matt Giteau's father was a league player.
Good to 'see' you Mis.
Big hugs...
