This is a biased look at Rugby (from a Gamma point of view...hence the fuschia) and I make no apologies for that. Go The Wallabies! Go The Brumbies!...and ouch...Stephen Larkham...

Nature's Wonders (no, this isn't a Stephen Larkham Post)

May 10th 2007 14:47
Okay. So this post has nothing to do with Rugby either and maybe I should have said "...isn't just a..." but never mind.

That's okay.

...some would say that Rugby has nothing to do with my posts. And those would be the last words they ever said...

I received these via email today and I love them. Just had to share them with you.

Please click on image to see it in its full glory.
Especially the 7th one...

Enjoy.

Pre-PS: the accompanying captions and commentary are all mine...

Photographer Unknown last seen taking a mood elevator to Cloud 9

"What do you mean my head's in the clouds? Dude...I live on Cloud 9..."

photographer unknown obviously not in plane

Hmmm...Air New Zealand?
....something tells me there would have been a lot of carrots and peas...
"Chicken, beef or vomit bag Ma'am?"

photographer unknown definitely not on plane

"Dammit. Why are we still experiencing turbulence?"
"erm...Captain?...we have a cirrus problem sir..."

photographer unknown definitely far away though

...not as cirrus serious as this one...still...you gotta lava an explosion...

photographer unknown definitely not in a bunker. idiot.

"Hey man, what's that rumbling noise?"
"Yeahhh....that's my stomach...I'm hungry...feel like a huge sandwich..."

photographer unknown but a brilliant lunar-tic

So now you know why a full moon encourages lunar-sea...

Whoops. Sorry. Hey...I did say-
and maybe I should have said "...isn't just a..."

This is one of (human) nature's finest wonders.
A Stephenis Larkyummia.
Sometimes referred to as a Brumby (which is a magnificent speciman of beauty and grace and power and is also an Australian wild horse) but more commonly known as a Demi God.

Right.

Next.

photographer unknown could be Tarzan

A concrete jungle?
Me Tarzan, you call me on my Blackberry vine...

photographer unknown could be ewe...

"Hey ewe...get off the road!"
"Yeah, flock off!"
"Nah man...we should do what the black sheep are doing..."
"Oh Ramsey, you're such a follower."

photographer unknown but great zoom lens

A Rhino-soar-us?
...the latest in zoo decor...find an animal to match the surroundings....

And my favourite.
Okay...my second favourite.

photographer unknown but very eye-ronic

"...so far the Anti-Grafitti Campaign has proved unsuccessful...except for this kindergarten. Today, we find out their secret. That story after the break. This is Mike Lapel, Channel Void News..."

I like the non-rugby posts... I can relate to them. Funny thing, though - during our road trip, when driving through tiny towns, I saw three signs that said Rugby on them... and I smiled a smile for ya each time.

Loving Lunar-Sea, but I'm sure that comes as no surprise.

Good to see you, Dusk Goddess --

Much Respect,

W

Dusk ...

I love your non-Larkham Posts ... (even when they do have his name in the title, and another picture of him, and he is the only reason you post non-Larkham posts ...

Apart from the two posts you had to do to get your poetry reposted, this is as non-Larkham as a non-Larkham post gets ...

It makes it so easy for me to not mention Stephen Larkham in my comment and focus on other things besides Stephen Larkham, Rugby and the Brumbies ... and I really appreciate how you've gone out of your way to do a non-Larkham post ...

So thanks ...

David ...

What amazing pictures Dusk, and fantastic captions as always. I always love your non-rugby posts (and not just because I can understand them!)

Hi Dusk

Always look forward to that email that comes through telling me that you've posted another post. I too have been missing you and your intelligence and wit.

Gorgeous photos ... the sand storm reminds me of when I lived in Central Australia. Not a time to have clean washing hanging on the line. Love the happy hippo too ... what a lovely little jump for joy!!

Great to 'see' you again.

Hello Lioness...

I saw three signs that said Rugby on them
Aah...tis an omen.
Of what I'm not quite sure!

Actually I am surprised to read that...although Rugby is played in the US, it's not that big that "tiny town" would play it. Maybe English, Australian or Canadian migrants?

Yes...I knew you would appreciate The Lunar Sea.

Life would be so boring without it...

Enjoy the rest of your holiday and safe travels.

Happy Mother's Day!!

much warmth Lioness

Hello David darlin'...

I'd like to clarify a few things.

Firstly:
Apart from the two posts you had to do to get your poetry reposted,

No. Not "your" singular.
"your" plural.

I was doing my civil duty as a humanitaquarian and made the neccessary sacrifice for the good of all womankind.

Secondly:
this is as non-Larkham as a non-Larkham post gets ...

If you can't join 'em....Larkham....

What?

Never mind.

And you're welcome.

much warmth...

Hiya Ninabelle...

I gotta tell ya...sometimes I don't quite understand my Rugby posts either...especially the one that don't mention Stephen Larkham, The Brumbies, Stephen, the Wallabies, Larkham....!

Kidding.
Sort of.

Yes these are amazing pictures, I had to post them.
And of course, I can't help myself...it would be just as simple to write a 'straight' caption but...that would be as unusual as the sun not setting...

Hope you're well Nina pretty TV Babble-ina...

much warmth

The picture of the sheep attacking surrounding the car must've been taken in New Zealand? *heehee*
