The Knee Bone is Disconnected...
October 2nd 2007 00:30
...from the sigh bone.
Um....that's not as crass as it reads. Okay? I'm not talking about that...and if you have to ask what "that" is then congratulations...you're an upstanding moral citizen.
And now upstanding sounds suspicious...
Get on with it.
The "sigh bone" would be the bone that houses this man's most precious organ. His brain. Therefore...his cranium.
And his knee bone is disconnected because it's not doing as its told...
Daily news releases state that there is a growing concern that Stephen Larkham has played his last test (Wallabies v Japan) and besides being very worrying news for The Wallabies (so much so that they've called up players who were not originally chosen for the RWC squad)...it's simply and utterly devastating for me.
(....and okay, for Larkham too. Maybe more so...just by a little bit...)
I refuse to believe that this is it. That Larkham's incredible career has been brought to its...knees...by his fricken knee!
He was fine (sort of) after the first operation.
...and then...not so fine second time around...
I just want to cry now. And not just because of those silly shorts.
Sportsfans...we knee-d a miracle.

Hiya MNG...
"bone of contention"?? I like that!
Sad to say...as brave as he is...his whole body has always been a weapon of mass destruction...for Forwards.
Good to see you G...

Hi Techno...
I think Larkham and Mick Doohan are great candidates for the Bionic Man.
We are all connected. Except my head today...running around like a headless chicken!
Thank you for coming on over.

Don't mind me...I am very much "it's all about the team" when it comes to playing Rugby but when it comes to watching Rugby...for me...Stephen Larkham is. just. IT.
Yes he is but one man but...oh dayam...a Perfect 10 and not just positional.
I'm sure Barnes will make that number his own. In field placing only.
Besides...Larkham has a sense of timing that is just innate. He makes it look easy. Coupled with his Forward mentality of never say die... especially when a big f**ker of an opposition Forward is running at full bolt at him...it takes a lot of heart and guts to stand your ground.
Look I just like him okay?!
I do have confidence in The Wallabies...but it is an end of an era for me. I do like some of the young guns, esp. the Brumbies ones...!...but I am worried that when it comes to certain positions...who do we really have that has convinced us?
Halfback after Gregan. Who?
Flyhalf after Larkham?...Barnes yes but...then who's the understudy?
I'm still coming to terms with Jeremy Paul being 'let go'. Have any of our hookers really owned that psoitions since?
This is the problem we have always had...our lack of depth.
Instead of training up club players, the ARU pays squillions to poach league players. The ABs do the right thing by choosing players to the position and then 'grooming' them for that instead of wasting precious time and energy making them a utility back.
I'd rather England and France just accept the truth and go home. Well...les bleus are already home but you get what I mean...
And yes!!
Go Fiji GO!!!
Thanks for coming by buddy...this is a good weekend coming up.
