Super 14: Week 1 Results...The Brumbies Ruck n Rule!
February 6th 2007 08:47
Eek...Week 1 matches are rucked and done and I really should have posted the results on Sunday but...it was Sunday, you know?
Things to do (laze around), places to be (bed), people to see (not telling)....
Still, better late than too early.
What?
Never mind....
Super 14: Week 1 results
Fri 02/02 -
Blues 34 v Crusaders 25 (Auckland)
The Blues led 19-13 at half-time, and were up 24-13 until the Crusadists narrowed to 20-24 before a further try to both teams...but really, who cares?
The Cru-sad-as suck.
The Blues suck a little less only because they whooped Crusaders ass.
(The Crulamers are current Super 14 champions and Brumby enemy #1)
Western Force 7 v Highlanders 8 (Perth)
Not bad....and James Hilgendorf* scored a try.
(Family friend. Go Jimmy!)
Sat 03/02 -
Lions 16 v Waratahs 25 (Johannesburg)
Go The Tahs...well done...close game...and um...I didn't watch it.
Well it was on at 4:00am. hello? It's not like The Brumbies were playing....
Chiefs 15 v Brumbies 21 (Hamilton)
GO THE BRUMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so Stephen wasn't there...it's cool, he had a good reason, he's a daddy again...so I didn't watch the game live plus I had other things to do at 5:30pm.
I did record it because it's a habit. I record every Brumbies match played, especially when Larkham is playing because slow motion replay is such a great feature....
Not a great game but a damn good one.
Good to see Clyde Rathbone revving up the wild horsepower.
Reds 25 v Hurricanes 16 (Brisbane)
Well...the Reds always start well. Won't get too excited.
We'll see what happens mid season.
Plus I'm a bit pissed that Eddie 'nial' Jones is Coach and yet another league player is being championed.
Sheesh. Have they not learnt their drunken Sailor lesson?
Sun 04/02 -
Sharks 17 v Bulls 3 (Durban)
Game was on at 2am...I was on my second bottle of wine. Shared bottle...sheesh...whaddaya think I am? Plus I had good reason to celebrate...
Cheetahs 27 v Stormers 9 (Bloemfontein)
Game was on at 4am...I was not. BUT...this result does put the Cheetahs at the top of the table. Impressive, considering that this is just their second year. Again, let's wait and see....
So...this is how the teams stack up...position and points wise, so far:
Super 14 Ladder
Cheetahs (SA) 4
Sharks (SA) 4
Blues (NZ) 4
Reds (QLD) 4
Waratahs (NSW) 4
Brumbies 4
Highlanders (NZ) 4
Western Force (WA) 1
Chiefs (NZ) 1
Lions (SA) 0
Hurricanes (NZ) 0
Crusaders (NZ) 0 (....Oh please Rugby Gods...keep 'em here...)
Bulls (SA) 0
Stormers (SA) 0
Week 1. Done.
Bring on Week 2....and GO THE BRUMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

So basically ... what you're saying is that Rugby is such an exciting game that ... the most noteworthy event in the first week is that Stephen Larkham was at home with his wife and child ... ??? ***
(And you know this is a joke ...
[And you're going to have to do a bit better to convert me from AUSSIE RULES to rugby than spending your Sundays lazing around, sleeping with unknown persons ... and grabbing the results from the SMH ... and posting them on a Wednesday ...
Stuff, I love shit-stirring ... No wonder I don't have any friends ... ***
