The Wallabies: To be sure twas Drought Empathy...

It is being said that the reason The Wallabies didn’t perform so well in Ireland, was because of the weather. It was abysmal.
From www.sportal.com.au
“Players were forced to contend with gale force winds, rain and a chill factor of six degrees in the match at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, with Connolly (Wallabies coach) predicting a different result had the conditions been different.”
Now...although I felt their pain, I don’t quite believe this to be the case.
I believe that The Wallabies don’t know how to play in such conditions because we’re experiencing a drought and with all the water restrictions on, they’re not allowed to practice with the sprinklers on...therefore they deliberately tossed the match as a show of empathy for us back home....
Seriously though, yes the weather conditions may have contributed to their loss but it is churlish to blame nature when conjuncture is what went wrong.
I don’t really know what’s going on with them.
A fighter on the field.
I do believe that this year we have redeemed ourselves a little. I'm getting a bit tired of all those poppy harvesting farmers out there...
My husband and I have noticed that something went awry the day Nobody (aka John Eales) retired. Where once the team ran out on to the field with force and determination, there is now a sense of doubt.
Nothing against Gregan because I am a GG fan but Eales had the ability to make his team believe. Really believe.
Only once have I seen it in recent years...that glint and steeliness...World Cup semi-final ’03. The Wallabies were not just out to prove a point, they were going to win the point.
And the All Blacks went bye-bye.
Regardless of how they play and disregarding my snide little remarks here and there (I’m just bummed they haven’t asked me to play...yet), my allegiance to my Wallabies does not flounder and as sad (both in mind and in manner) as I tend to get, I stand true to the Rugby Code of Solidarity....Thou Shalt Not Sledge Thy Rugby Comrade In Emotional Pain.
*exception to the rule...inter code immigrants...and even that may go against The Code of Compassion
This is what has shaken me to my rugby core...I am shocked and appalled to read that former Wallaby Greats are slinging mud.
From www.sportal.com.au
"Coach John Connolly says attacks on his struggling team from retired stars are the last thing the Wallabies need in the countdown to the Rugby World Cup.
The Wallabies have been widely condemned in the wake of Sunday's ugly 21-6 loss to Ireland, with 1991 World Cup winner Simon Poidevin leading the way after Connolly's troops were given a lesson in wet-weather football at Lansdowne Road.
Poidevin suggested the Wallabies had an attitude problem and behaved like "rock stars", but Connolly said that couldn't be further from the truth.”
Rock stars? Oh puh-lease. Rugby players are ruck stars.
But wait...there’s more....if you’d like to read it, here’s the link www.sportal.com.au/union.
I’m not going to sully my page with these words of wisdumb**
**full credit for this word must go to Joe Blogg link provided
The thing is...I do agree with what the retired Greats are saying but not how they’re saying it.
As to their supposed ‘rock star’ attitude...that’s another post.
Yes, they have become inaccessible...trying to get an interview with a player now is harder than trying to get sense out of a dollar (what?) but it’s not the players attitudes that have changed. It’s the people around them.
One for all and all for won.
The Wallabies...ruck on!
Och Jimmy...lang may yer lum reek...The Wallabies play Scotland next week...

I have accepted your Pepsi Max* with much pleasure! Thank you for inviting me.
I had subscribed to your This n That blog after I left my comments on your Pay It Forward post so this is a nice synchronicity and correlation.
A Type Gamma. A Gamma Type. Well...it's a personality type, neither Alpha nor Beta...not leader nor follower....not ruler nor ruled...just is... a 'philosophy' I have tried to live by my entire life... as I do the Pay It Forward system of belief.
I'm sorry if this sounds pretentious...it's hard for me to describe exactly what it is...it's a thought pattern..an understanding that I, the individual, am unique. Just Like Everyone Else.
If you wish, click on this -GAMMA- and once there, visit 'About Gamma' and 'Y Gamma'.
Please try to ignore the surface impression...tis a popular culture veil for the true message.
Thank you once again Pegasus.
I unfortunately do not have much time to spend in Orble at the moment...I have been wanting to comment on 2 of your recent posts! I will visit as soon as possible.
