The Wallabies: As You've Never Seen Them Before.
September 28th 2007 23:00
I found this a while ago when it was still...um...undiscovered. I wrote about it elsewhere, didn't want to write about it here. Why? Well...see...when I found it, it was still 'interactive'. So I interacted. And then I got embarrassed.
It's no longer instantaneously interactive (and evidence of my interaction has been erased) so...now I can share it with you.

Oh...and I'm sure regular readers of this blog can guess exactly which post I 'interacted' with.
It's great to see their 'raw' footage and read their words. Why I say "great" because nowadays The Wallabies as individuals are so far removed from public view, it's weird and feels strangely intimate to see them as they really are.
Just normal boys and men...funny, witty, charming, fun-loving guys who happen to play at the elite level of their chosen sport. Really what struck me was...how innocent and 'fresh' they are. Yes, a strange choice of adjectives but, what I have always maintained is that Rugby teaches humility...it's a team sport...you're only as good as the people around you.
Read some of the post entries...there's an ongoing saga about Al 'The Fuse' Baxter with a really funny dead-pan 'retelling of the myth' by Matt Giteau. And do not miss watching the video clip: 'Farewell, Travel and Surfing in Lagos'.
Especially the farewell part at the start, which was filmed right after The Wallabies Public Farewell in Sydney.
There's also weekly polls. The current one is;
Which Wallaby would you most like to go out with your sister?
a) Stephen Hoiles
b) Stephen Moore
c) Stephen Larkham
d) David lyons
Guess who's leading?
Most importantly, you can send your messages of support to The Wallabies at:
wallabies8@gmail.com
It's the real deal sportsfans. And now that we're getting to the business end of things, more than ever our team needs us.
That's right.
The Wallabies need Australia.
