This is a biased look at Rugby (from a Gamma point of view...hence the fuschia) and I make no apologies for that. Go The Wallabies! Go The Brumbies!...and ouch...Stephen Larkham...

Were You In The Dark?

April 1st 2007 07:53
I'm just curious.....

Saturday March 31 at 7:30pm.

Earth Hour.

Sydneysiders.......did you turn your lights off?

Did you just standby or did you get off it?

[Hmmm....you know what happens in times like these don't you?

....local warming.....if you know what I mean??...nudge nudge wink think..... Spring brings new life....]

Anyway.

....yes, my household was in the dark...to an extent....come on, the Rugby was on.....wish we stayed in the dark....

.....frontal lobe warming.....

Grrrr.

The Waratahs (NSW) redeemed themselves a little but seriously, what was that?
The lights were on but no one was at Our House*.

....and then.....at 1am.....a luminous glow bathed me in it's brilliance.....

Okay. It was the TV and The Brumbies were playing.

Ah suh-wear sugah.....it wurs a bit lark...um....basking in the radiance of a demi God.

*Our House = nickname for Aussie Stadium, Sydney

Only I know what the David Day celebrations were all about ... (and that's how it should be ... they are a private matter full of light!

Yep ... good try ... yep ... write as many posts as you like without mentioning whoever he is ... but nup ...

it just won't wash ...

there is no way I will divulge what the David Day celebrations were all about ...

Just dream on okay? ...

Seriously?

You women? ..

Serioulsy? ...

I just wish the lot of you would get serious ...

Well, I've tried my best to educate the lot of you .. but apparently ... nup ... you're not interested ... well ... fair enough then ... I'll leave you all alone to live in your own ignorance then ...

Not even signing off on this comment ... none of you deserve to see my name written twice ... You'll all get over it eventually ...

Is it Spring in Oz, Dusk?

No...but it will be in 9 months....

(traditionally blackout periods have always 'yielded' fruit...of the human kind...something to do with things that go bump bits in the dark of night....)

Wendivine.....glow-bal warming....

Seriously darlin'....I hope you had a good DavidDay...

I was talking to DDH about something you wrote on another post (And Finally....) and I couldn't help but think how much fun it would be if we were friends in the physical world (I'm going to add....) as well.

You're nuts. And priceless.

I was out at a restaurant....so forgot completely.

I'm hoping I had at least turned off the lights when I went out. And I can't be sure of that. Bad Kylie. Bad!

Well the lights were out at our place as we were at the AFL opening game.

Get this though, Telstra Stadium kept announcing that they supported it, but couldn't participate due to 'operational and safety reasons'. Meanwhile they kept running the electronic ads along the sides of the field, and ironically when they made these announcements during quarter time breaks, they were flashing Energy Australia ads - well why didn't they turn those off!

Apparently (I heard) they did turn off the big Telstra sign out the front of the stadium.

Oh ... um ... I forgot too.

Whoops, sorry.

But I did think about doing it earlier in the day and it's the thought that counts, huh?

Spring brings new life....]

Already got a bun in this oven ... don't need another one!!!

(7 weeks and counting...)

Hi Mel...

'operational and safety reasons'.
And there lies the irony.

Twas electricity earthed hour.

Thanks for dropping by

Actually Dusk, one other thing I noticed was that they would promote it as something we could all do by saying "it's as simple as flicking a switch" - and especially with the Energy Australia adverts running, you wonder just in which direction they want you to flick your switch in.

Next they're going to say....it's as simple as
....A B hypocrC....

The sad thing....it all seems like such a joke.

My boys went to The Waratahs game at Aussie Stadium and they were like huh?...they took glow sticks.

Yeah.....they're teens. What more can I say??

Good to see you Mel.

My house was darkish, we were out at the V Festival, but I had to leave a light on for our pooch...I did an hour of non-lightage through the week though as penance....

That's it.
I was in a political party at the time. Sorry a politicians party. Yep, acidimics (sic) again. They say shoo, I say who?

There were comments about Harry's lights going out, at the same time as most of the 16 hour office workers had left theirs on.

Hmm acidic, endemic, academics. Gotta love em though.

We had fun.

How goes ya?

Yeah, I was working, so my apartment was dark. The cafe I work at turned off the lights for the customers, but not in the kitchen, naturally.

Time for another confession.

I'm a year of the dog, Dusk. In early 1983, the shift to pigtime was Feb 16, and I'm Feb 9.

So I'm a DigerTog.

Psst... my secret animal is the rabbit... as I was born at dawn... my how opposites attract...

Happy Easter! Do your kids still get easter eggs? Kinda embarrassing, but I still do. The one with the nougar inside. Mmmmmmmmm
